Spicy Papaya Salad (Som Tum)

Spicy Papaya Salad or Som Tum is not only a popular dish in Chiang Rai but also becomes one of the most popular national dish in Thailand. As it is a popular dish so you will see it everywhere in Chiang Rai. Som Tum is usually eaten with fresh cabbage and fresh morning glory. Som Tum is also suited well to grilled chicken and sticky rice ( sweet rice ). People from the north and the northeast of Thailand like to have Som Tum with sticky rice.

Doi Tung – Chiang Rai, Thailand

Doi Tung or Switzerland in Thailand is one of the most famous and interesting place in Chiang Rai, Thailand.   The Doi Tung Royal Villa was originally built as the former residence of the late Princess Mother ( Somdej Phra Srinagarindra Boromarajajonani ) and now this place has been displayed  as the Princess Mother’s a house museum.

Besides The Doi Tung Royal Villa, There is the most beautiful park of the country is called the Mae Fah Luang Garden. The Mae Fah Luang Garden consists all kind of flowers and plants from all corners of the world.

Mae Sai is the northernmost district of Chiang Rai province in northern Thailand. Mae Sai is a major border crossing between Thailand and Myanmar. Mae Sai is also the best shopping place for the cheap shoppers who like to shop all kind of copied brand names of clothes, bags, shoes, cosmetics, and much more.
